Volunteer
The Restart Center’s mission is to take an individual from a state of homelessness and hopelessness to a state of self-sufficiency, which manifests itself when individuals who were at one time marginalized citizens in society become productive tax-paying citizens, with effective coping skills and a positive self-esteem and self-concept. The Restart Center is in desperate need of volunteers that can help with this mission.
Each hour of service a volunteer performs is worth $10.00 to the Restart Center. This is money that is used to keep the utilities turned on and running, as well as keeping the program functioning.
 Volunteers are the life-blood of the Valley Restart Center and to our daily operations. Volunteers who donate their time, knowledge, and experience are the people who help empower the marginalized, downtrodden members of the underclass; namely the homeless men, women and children of San Jacinto Valley.
The needs of the Valley Restart Center are many and diverse and include, but are not limited to the following:
- Child care to monitor the children of the parents who are attending mandatory classes, as well as story tellers for the children.
- Volunteers with clerical skills to work as file clerks, data entry workers, answering telephones, assisting administration personnel, mailings to the community and a myriad of other tasks in the Center.
- Volunteers for the Restart Thrift Store who can work as cashiers, stocking merchandise and sorting donations.
- Individuals or organizations that can provide assistance with fund raisers or can sponsor a homeless person for as little as $15 a day.
